A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius (Dave Eggers)

Has anyone else read this book? It came out in 2000. The author is about 35 and founded the magazine McSweeney's.

This book is partly an autobiography. I thought it was very interesting and well done.

The author grew up mainly in the prosperous Chicago suburb of Lake Forest, Illinois. Problems developed in a major way when both parents died of cancer-- Eggers was then in his early 20s. He was apparently in charge of raising the youngest child, a boy of 7, from then on. (An older brother and sister were no longer living at home.)
