Doctors and dentists are entirely too willing to prescribe a painkiller like OxyContin, I think. I've known dentists almost to insist on giving me an OxyContin prescription for pain that was easily managed by aspirin or Tylenol. So far I've never taken OxyContin, Vicodin or Percocet, and this one (MedPage Today, September 9, 2012) make me glad I didn't.
