Fall Down Laughing: How Squiggy Caught Multiple Sclerosis and Didn't Tell Nobody by David L. Lander and Lee Montgomery (2000)--has anybody else read this book?
Although it came out eight years ago, I got around to reading it only just now. One reason I took so long to read it is that the author's name meant nothing to me. I'd never watched the "Laverne and Shirley Show," on which he played the character Squiggy.
But many other people must have been watching the show because I've seen quite a few posts about Squiggy and his MS over the years on MS message boards.
The book isn't one of the best among books by people discussing personal experiences with MS, but the details about Lander's denial--and later his attempts at concealing his MS--are informative, and many of us will see ourselves in his descriptions.
Some of his facts are wrong, and I did wonder why he changed from Betaseron to Avonex but he never goes into it. |

Thanks for the review, Agate. I remember him well and will pick this book up if I remember next time I am in Chapters.
Have you read Montel's new book yet?

Would that be
Living Well: 21 Days to Transform Your Life, Supercharge Your Health, and Feel Spectacular (Hardcover)
by Montel Williams and William Doyle?
No, I'm sorry I haven't read it yet but look forward to it. Have you read it? |

Yeah, that's it, I think.
Someone I know was in the midst of reading it and was disappointed because it seems to be all about diet. That interests me though, so I think I'll enjoy it.
