From the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Internet Newsletter, June 2006:

IT'S BRIGHTER TOMORROW GRANT TIME AGAIN!

Each year, the MSF makes dreams come true for individuals with MS across the country through the Brighter Tomorrow Grant Program. The goal of this program is to provide individuals with MS with goods or services to improve their quality of life by enhancing safety, self-sufficiency, comfort, or well-being. Applications are confidential and will be reviewed by the grant committee. The Brighter Tomorrow Grant is a wish-based program and is not based solely on financial criteria.

Applicants are asked to provide basic personal and financial information, along with a brief essay of 100 words or less, to describe their need and how the grant might help them to have a brighter tomorrow. The grant cycle begins on July 1st and ends on October 1st. In order to be considered by the grant committee, applications must be received during these dates only.

Applications will be available on our website beginning July 1st. Visit http://www.msfocus.org. Applications will also arrive in the summer issue of MSFocus. Additional applications can be obtained by calling 1-888-MSFOCUS (673-6287). If you were not a recipient in the past, we encourage you to apply.

This update on the MS Foundation's Brighter Tomorrow grants just reached me by e-mail:

CAN WE HELP YOU HAVE A BRIGHTER TOMORROW?

Remember when you were little and you got to blow out all the candles on your birthday cake and then make a big wish? Well, the Brighter Tomorrow Grant Program is kind of like that - only it's for grown-ups and it doesn't have to be your birthday and there are no candles involved!

The Brighter Tomorrow Grant Program strives to improve quality of life for individuals living with MS by fulfilling their request for goods or services that will enhance their safety, self-sufficiency, comfort, or well being.

Applicants are asked to provide basic personal and financial information, along with a brief essay of 100 words or less, to describe their request and how the grant might help them to have a brighter tomorrow. The grant cycle runs from July 1st until October 1st. In order to be considered by the grant committee, applications must be received during these dates only.

Applications are available on our website at http://www.msfocus.org/programs_grants_bwmg_app.php. Additional applications can be obtained by calling 1-888-MSFOCUS (673-6287).
