Has anybody else been growing anything? Here are some photos of the plants on my balcony this year--not so very different from other years, but the impatiens has been much more satisfactory in planters bracketed to the railing, probably because I can get at them more easily:

Impatiens, begonias, geranium, hosta Aug. 12, 2008

same as above, August 31, 2008

Your flowers are just beautiful Agate!

We just finished a lot of work in our yard. I need to upload the pics to my website so I can post a link. Ours is a work in progress, but I have lots of room to plant new things in the springtime. sunny

Ok, I just uploaded them to my website, I hope they show with this link.

Thanks so much for sharing the views of your garden! The hanging baskets are lovely--and you can have lots of fun planning what to plant in the various locations. Or have you decided already?

Nice too that you have evergreens around you (fewer leaves to rake!).

We've been lucky that our neighbors have planted lots of nice trees. They've brought many varieties of birds here as they matured. Wrens are here all the time now. sunny

We have one pine tree in front that I planted about 17 years ago or so. Also a red maple which has done well for a tree that's supposed to like lots of moisture.

I've planted new things since these pictures were taken: some ground cover plants that were on sale, two more small trees in front, a rose of Sharon shrub in lavender, and I've divided irises and moved them to two different spots in the yard.

I have some ideas of what I want to plant, but I tend to find things that are just right for a particular spot. It's like a have a halfway blank canvas now that I need to fill in. sunny

I haven't had the energy to do this much yard work in years. I think it might be because of the Tysabri since I feel stronger and healthier while taking it.

I might do some container veggie plants next year too.

BTW, tuberous begonias are some of my favorites, but I haven't had good luck with them in years. They sure do well in your patio garden!

Wow, Agate . . . you must pamper those flowers like a big ole fat cat. geek

I got pictures this year, and my garden was much nicer, but they are on film instead of digital. My Grandmother left me this really nice 35mm camera with zoom, etc., so I had to try it out. I haven't gotten around to developing them yet . . . that usually takes about 5 yrs.

Nice pad, Ewizabeth. You've been there a LONG time, phew. You must be really old.

(HA!, I know, same age as me geek )

Cherie

Thanks Cherie,

Yes, we're ancient aren't we? joker

I'm grateful that I have some energy to do a little fixing up on the house. Next is carpet and linoleum. We have the originals from 18 years ago, and it wasn't the best quality then.

I hope it's within budget. If I'm on a roll, I might as well keep on going. lol

Cherie, I don't know a thing about digital cameras. I have a 35mm point-and-shoot.
