Enough is enough.
Two more victims of somebody with a gun. You can read the news story here.
This post probably belongs in the Fight Club section because it is frankly opinionated, but I'm going to put it here.
Thirty years ago my mother, a writer, wrote a piece for the Oakland Tribune (March 3, 1981), "It Is Time To Put the Tools of Violence Out of Reach."
Here are some excerpts:

Certainly reform of the criminal courts system is necessary, but here again we have corrective measures after the crime is a fact. Sane judgment insists that the tools of violence be placed out of reach.

If an outraged public opinion doesn't quickly put a stop to the machinations of the NRA and its backers, it will be because, as a people, we have come to love violence for its own sake. We will stand for death rather than life, and the gun will be our national symbol. |
For many years now voices have been raised against the easy availability of firearms in the US. Not many have been listening. |
