The big news in the US these days has been the OWS (Occupy Wall Street) protests, of course. Disabled people like myself might tend to stay away from large crowds, but some intrepid souls have shown up at the occupation scenes. Here is a link to the OccupyUSA blog for November 17 by Greg Mitchell (for The Nation magazine) detailing events as they unfold across the nation.

I was particularly interested in the photo of a woman in a wheelchair with this caption:

10:00 Via Michael Moore, photo at left of woman arrested at Wall St. today. He says cops couldn't figure out how to load her in van so just gave her arrest citation.



The cops haven't had training in dealing with wheelchairs. Too busy learning how to wear that fancy riot gear, maybe.
