The big news in the US these days has been the OWS (Occupy Wall Street) protests, of course. Disabled people like myself might tend to stay away from large crowds, but some intrepid souls have shown up at the occupation scenes. Here is a link to the OccupyUSA blog for November 17 by Greg Mitchell (for The Nation magazine) detailing events as they unfold across the nation.
I was particularly interested in the photo of a woman in a wheelchair with this caption:

The cops haven't had training in dealing with wheelchairs. Too busy learning how to wear that fancy riot gear, maybe.
