Hi Everybody,

I start a new job on Monday. But there's another job I want more and if they call to tell me I get that one, I'm going to rescind my acceptance of the first job. Things are crazy right now as you might guess.

On Monday I'll be out of town for the training and staying there all week since it's a long drive in the winter weather.

I feel lucky that I found a job at all, but I'd really like the other job more. help They took a long time to get to the interviews and hiring though. scratch

When things get settled I'll check back in to report about which job I actually have and how it went. geek

Congrats, Wiz ... no matter which you end up with! I wish I could still work, although I'd probably have a hard time adapting into that routine again even if I was cured of my MS.

Good Luck!!

Cherie

That's wonderful news about the new job(s)!

Are these jobs you need to commute to?

Keeping fingers crossed for you to get good news on the more desirable job soon!

I finished my first week of training for the sales job and I loved it. sunny I think I may have found a fit for my talents and experience. I also got a thank you/refusal letter for the accounting job today.

I do have to commute for the training for four weeks. I stayed at a local hotel in the suburbs this week and it worked out fine.

Next week is 3 days there, 2 days at the local store. The following two weeks will be four days in the suburbs for training and one day each week in the store.

This is retail sales/customer service but it's a Fortune 100 company. I'm lucky to have this job because the pay and benefits are excellent. There's also lots of room for advancement. I hope I'll do ok, especially with my energy levels. I'm going to try very hard to make it work though.

This is wonderful news! Excellent pay and benefits--that sounds truly fine. I hope it works out well for you.

How has the Copaxone been going since you started on it again?

The Copaxone is ok, only some minor site reactions and itching, but nothing I can't deal with. Thanks for asking.

I hope you're getting all situated in your new home. I know it can take awhile but it sounds like you made a good move and after you get settled things will hopefully be improved over your last place.

I'd say things are already improved. It's really nice not to have diesel trucks, motorcycles, and other vehicles, to say nothing of people on skateboards, people on cellphones, people with boomboxes, roaring by right under my nose.

I lived on a side street that looked as if it would be quiet. Then there were the air shows, the helicopters, and the nonstop fireworks that went on sometimes for several weeks around July 4 and New Year's.

It's blissfully quiet here by comparison!

Thanks Cherie,

I think this job will be good and I feel lucky to have it. It's going to take some adjusting to get into the routine but they have such awesome practices to make it easier. It's a job where I'll have to stand a lot but when filling orders and doing customer service there will be stools to sit at behind the counter.

It's only five minutes from home too and climate controlled. All the people in training were under 31, but me at 51. sunny I kept up with them in the training though and I think my manager was happy. thumbright

Thanks Matt and Cricket. sunny It's been fun so far and I get to work in the store again on Friday. I'm learning a lot and I can feel the fog float in but if I keep busy it's easier to work through it. Of course at the end of the day I do little to nothing, but that's ok with me! cheers
